Our Programs

Health Awareness Program at AVS College

A health awareness program was conducted at AVS College to promote health education and preventive healthcare among students and faculty members. The program aimed to raise awareness about common health issues, promote healthy lifestyle practices, and empower individuals to take proactive steps towards improving their well-being. Health screening camps were set up on the college premises to provide students and faculty members with access to basic health assessments, such as blood pressure checks, BMI measurements, and general health consultations. Practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions were organized to demonstrate healthy cooking techniques, stress-relief exercises, mindfulness practices, and self-care strategies. Informational pamphlets, brochures, and posters on various health topics were distributed to participants to reinforce key messages and provide additional resources for reference. The health awareness program at AVS College was a resounding success, contributing to the promotion of health education, preventive healthcare, and wellness promotion among students and faculty members

Block Level Awareness Programme on Adolescent Children & Young Women Education

The programme aimed to address the importance of education for adolescent children and young women, highlight the challenges they face, and promote strategies for improving access and quality of education in the community. Engaging sessions were held to facilitate dialogue and exchange of ideas among participants, encouraging them to share their experiences, concerns, and suggestions for improving access to education for adolescent children and young women. The programme fostered community participation and engagement in supporting educational initiatives, with stakeholders expressing commitment to addressing the identified challenges and promoting education for all.

District-Level Protection for Children & Women Workshop

The workshop aimed to address issues related to the safety, welfare, and rights of children and women in our district. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session featuring speeches from distinguished guests, including government officials and representatives from partner organizations, emphasizing the significance of prioritizing the protection of children and women. Breakout sessions were conducted to facilitate group discussions and brainstorming activities. Participants collaborated to identify challenges specific to our district and develop strategies for addressing them effectively. These plans encompassed initiatives for capacity building, awareness-raising campaigns, advocacy efforts, and inter-agency coordination. By fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and developing actionable strategies, we are better equipped to create a safer and more inclusive environment for all members of our community.

Awareness Campaign for Women & Children Against Crime

Karipatty Rural Organization for People’s Education initiated an awareness campaign aimed at educating women and children about various forms of crime and empowering them with knowledge and resources to protect themselves under the directive of the Deputy Commissioner. Interactive sessions were organized in community centers and schools to educate participants about various forms of crime, including domestic violence, harassment, trafficking, and exploitation. Pamphlets, posters, and booklets containing information on emergency helplines, legal rights, and support services were distributed among participants and in public spaces for wider dissemination. By empowering individuals with knowledge and resources, we can work towards a society where everyone can live free from fear and violence. The Deputy Commissioner's continued support and leadership in such initiatives are crucial for achieving lasting impact and positive change.

Free Tailoring Machine Support

The program aimed to empower individuals, particularly women and marginalized communities, by providing them with access to sewing machines and training to enhance their livelihood opportunities through tailoring and garment making. A needs assessment was conducted to identify individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who would benefit from the program. Priority was given to women, widows, single mothers, and other marginalized groups. Sewing machines were procured and distributed free of cost to selected beneficiaries. The machines were selected based on their suitability for domestic use and ease of operation. By providing access to resources and training opportunities, the program has empowered individuals to improve their livelihoods and quality of life, contributing to poverty alleviation and socio-economic development at the grassroots level.

Educational Support for Physically Challenged School Children

An educational support program for physically challenged school children was initiated to aim the unique learning needs and challenges faced by physically challenged students, ensuring their access to quality education and holistic development. Trained educators and specialists conducted assessments to identify the specific learning needs and requirements of each physically challenged student. Individualized education plans (IEPs) were developed to outline customized learning goals and support strategies. By addressing the unique needs and barriers faced by physically challenged students, we are working towards building a more equitable and inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Milk Workers Group Discussion Presentation

A group discussion and presentation were organized with milk workers to address key issues related to their work, livelihoods, and well-being. Issues related to health and welfare, including access to healthcare, insurance coverage, and social security benefits, were addressed during the discussion. Opportunities for skill development, training, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the professional competence and productivity of milk workers were explored.

Group Discussion with Anganwadi Teachers

Anganwadi teachers discussed their experiences in implementing various Anganwadi programs, including nutrition supplementation, health check-ups, early childhood education, and maternal care services. Teachers highlighted successful practices and initiatives they have implemented to overcome challenges and enhance the quality of services, including innovative teaching methods, community outreach activities, and partnerships with local stakeholders. The group discussion with Anganwadi teachers proved to be a valuable platform for fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and identifying strategies to enhance the delivery of childcare and early childhood development services.
